You’ve seen the big day on our race schedule, right? We’re talking about the Briggs LO 206 Money Race on May 20th. Let’s get some details headed your direction so you know what to expect.

Engine, Bodywork, Tires, Classes, Fuel

  • Engine tech is per the Briggs & Stratton tech manual listed on this website at LO 206 Tech Rules
  • Body work rules are open. Either CIK or full kart 4 cycle style bodywork can be run.
  • Seat rules; any commercially available karting seat. 
    • Installed seat height; As measured from a vertical plane from ground to top center of seat back with driver in seat,13″ for the Senior Classes.
  • We will borrow Cup Karts North America (CKNA) weight rules. We will run both a Sr. Medium class at 360#’s and a Sr. Heavy class at 390#’s. We run no prep at SRR. 
  • We will allow either the Vega Red tire rule that CKNA runs, or a Bridgstone YLC. Tire sizes will be 4.6″ and 6″ for the Vega tires and 4.5″ and 6″ for the Bridgestone tires. We’d ask that all competitors observe our no tire prep rule at SRR.
  • Drivers must be 15 years and older to compete.
  • Fuel: buy the 87 octane regular containing ethanol at the Brodhead, WI Stop and Go station on the very south edge of town. The station is at 2413 1st Center Ave, Brodhead, WI 53520.

Extra Practice

Not a bad idea, after all there is money on the line!

  • Saturday night race May 12th. Register at 4 PM, practice at 6 PM.
    • We will run both LO 206 Sr. Medium and Heavy 
  • Saturday Evening May 19th 5 PM to 9 PM open track. LO206 only. $20/driver

Schedule and Fees

  • Entry Fees; $100/driver, Second class is $10 less.
  • PIt Passes are $10/person. Pass is included in the entry fee for drivers.
  • Transponder rentals are $10/day.
  • Sunday registration at 9 AM, Practice 10 AM
  • Race Format;
    • Up to 15 entries.  One heat grouping, 10 minute qualifier, 10 lap pre-final, and 20 lap feature.
    • Race format w/up to 30 entries; 2 heat groupings, same qualifying, pre-finals and feature lengths.  Qualifiers loaded alphabetically, Qualifying results load heats; Odd times in 1st heat, even spots in 2nd heat.  Top 10 finishers from heats move to feature. 
    • $75 to win 10 lap consolation race for non qualifiers if 6 or more.
  • Race Order
    • Practice runs in the morning between 10 AM and 11:30 AM. Both Medium and Heavy will practice in this time frame.
    • Heavy class will race first. It will alternate with regular Sugar River Raceway (SRR) classes.
    • Medium class will start their qualifying session 1/2 hour after the Heavy feature concludes.
      • Medium class will alternate with other SRR classes. If the SRR classes finish we’ll take timed brakes in between Medium class sessions.

Pay Out

  • Medium class will offer a $750 payday to the winner. Heavy class will offer a $500 payday to the winner. This is due to the differing amounts of sponsor money we have at this time. We hope to find another sponsor or two that will allow us to pay $750 to our Heavy winner also.
  • Payouts for Medium and Heavy is the same except for the winner share discussed in the bullet point above.
  • A full payout schedule will be available at the track.
