You’ve seen the big day on our race schedule, right? We’re talking about the Briggs LO 206 Money Race on September 23rd. Let’s get some details headed your direction so you know what to expect.

Engine, Bodywork, Tires, Classes, Fuel

  • Engine tech is per the Briggs & Stratton tech manual listed on this website at LO 206 Tech Rules
  • Body work rules are open. Either CIK or full kart 4 cycle style bodywork can be run.
  • Seat rules; any commercially available karting seat.
    • Installed seat height; As measured from a vertical plane from ground to top center of seat back with driver in seat,13″ for the Senior Classes.

  • We will allow either the Vega Red tire rule that CKNA runs, or a Bridgstone YLC. Tire sizes will be 4.6″ and 6″ for the Vega tires and 4.5″ and 6″ for the Bridgestone tires. We’d ask that all competitors observe our no tire prep rule at SRR
  • Sugar River Raceway will have Bridgestone YLC tires in stock for purchase. We have 10 sets in stock. Call to 608/897-2898 with credit card in hand to nail down a set. Sets are priced at $180 + sales tax..
  • Drivers must be 15 years and older to compete.
  • Fuel: buy the 87 octane regular containing ethanol at the Brodhead, WI Stop and Go station on the very south edge of town. The station is at 2413 1st Center Ave, Brodhead, WI 53520.

  • Sunday registration at 9 AM, Practice 10 AM
  • Race Format;

    • Race format w/up to 30 entries; 2 heat groupings, same qualifying, pre-finals and feature lengths.  Qualifiers loaded alphabetically, Qualifying results load heats; Odd times in 1st heat, even spots in 2nd heat.  Top 10 finishers from heats move to feature.
    • $75 to win 10 lap consolation race for non qualifiers if 6 or more.
  • Race Order
    • Practice runs in the morning between 10 AM and 11:30 AM. Both Medium and Heavy will practice in this time frame.
    • Heavy class will race first. It will alternate with regular Sugar River Raceway (SRR) classes.
    • Medium class will start their qualifying session 1/2 hour after the Heavy feature concludes.
      • Medium class will alternate with other SRR classes. If the SRR classes finish we’ll take timed brakes in between Medium class sessions.

Pay Out

  • Both class will offer a $500 to $599 payday to the winner (see table below). We had posted a $750 winner’s payout for the medium class in the spring post. That was based on the sponsorship we had at that time. By moving our race to the fall we’ve lost some of that sponsorship money. We will announce at race time what sponsorship money might be added to the winner’s purse.
  • A full payout schedule will be available at the track.
