2014 Class Listings

1 Historic 1956 to 1964 Historic Karts and Engines. Dry clutch: Single, Twin, Triple engines: 16.5 (270cc) max displacement: No expansion chambers: Mufflers recommended: Vintage tires. Demonstration class only. Promoter may split class per VKA guidelines (Para, 6a, below).
2 Junior Class Sidewinder or Rear Engine Rear or sidewinder karts; single American engines; all West Bends, Clintons, Homelites, McCulloch up to 6.1 (100cc) max displacement: (Industrial type WB820with 8.2 c.i. max displacement allowed).Single one inch throttle bore. 7/8" Venturi carburetor, HL or small mac flat back allowed: Dry clutch, Box Muffler, and Vintage tires.
3 Sportsman rear Rear American Engines; 8.2 c.i. (135cc) max displacement; WB-820 with 8.2 c.i. (135cc) max displacement must be industrial type; McCullochs must be 6.1 (100cc) max displacement or saw blocks over 80cc. All engines run single HJL 1" throttle bore carburetor, small single intake manifold. Small Mac flat-back carb okay. Must have dry clutch, box muffler and vintage tires. No Mc91, 92, or 93 engines.
4 Mac 49/Saw Rear Enginer 80 cc McCulloch engines. 1.375 stroke maximum. Aftermarket small intake manifold OK. Single HL 1 inch carburetor, 7/8' venturi or small mac flat back carb. Dry clutch. Box muffler, Vintage Tires.
5 Single Rear 6.1 & under 6.1 (100cc) American or Foreign engines: Pipes allowed, Oil clutches allowed, no disc clutches, vintage tires, any carb combination allowed.
6 Single Rear 8.2 Rear engine karts, (135cc) American or Foreign max displacement engines: Pipes allowed: Oil clutches allowed, no disc clutches, vintage tires, any carb combination.
7 Dual Rear American or Foreign engines (270cc) max displacement: Pipes allowed, Oil clutches allowed. No disc clutches. Any Historic B or C class karts may run in this class. Vintage Tires
8 Single Sidewinder American 6.1 (100cc) American Fan Cooled engines: engine clutches only. Pipes allowed. One inch axle. modern tires permitted.
9 Single Sidewinder American 8.2 8.2 (135cc) American Fan Cooled engines: engine clutches only. Pipes allowed. One inch axle. modern tires permitted
10 Single Sidewinder Foreign 6.1 One (100cc) Foreign or American engines produced before 1980. Engine clutches only. Pipes allowed. 1 inch axle. Modern tires permitted.
11 Single Sidewinder Foreign 8.2 (135cc) Foreign or American Engines: engine clutches only. Pipes allowed. 1 inch axle. Engines produced before 1980. Modern tires permitted.
12 Over 60, Rear or Sidewinder Kart Driver 60 years +. 6.1 (100cc) American engines only: Oil clutches okay, no disc clutches. Pipes allowed. Vintage Tires required. Any carb combination.
13 Dual Sidewinder Dual sidewinder kart w/American or foreign engines. 16.5 c.i. (270cc) max displacement. Engine clutches only. Pipes allowed. 1 inch axle allowed if original. Modern tires permitted. Kart and engines must be manufactured before 1983.
14 80-85 Sidewinder 6.1 (100cc) American or Foreign engines: engine clutches only. Pipes allowed. Modern tires permitted. 1.25" axles permitted. Kart and engine manufactured prior to 1986
15 Yamaha Piston Port Sidewinder karts manufactured before 1976 with single 100cc Yamaha piston port engine (KT100S), 1975 to present. Factory ignition system only, Walbro WB3A carburetor only, pipe and wet clutch allowed, 1" or 1.25" axle, modern tires, gasoline only.
16 Stock Appearing or Sportsman Sidewinder or rear engine kart, pre 1980, with 6.1 (100cc) max displacement American Fan Cooled engine. Single carburetor (Mikuni, Tillotson, or McCulloch), any size throttle bore. Factory V-4 intake, modern tires, box muffler, dry clutch (Max Torque or Rev Grip).

Kart Manufactured between 1956 and 1985
are eligible for participation.

No open headers at Brodhead even if period correct.

Allowed in all classes
Classes 1-11 Require a 1 inch axle. Karts and Engines must be from 1956 to 1979 era.
Vintage tires 65 durometer min refer to VKA Acceptable Vintage Tire schedule.
Modern tires 60 durometer or higher, refer to VKA Acceptable Modern Tire Schedule.
Modifications Allowed with vintage period type components
Wet Clutch Allowed in all classes except Sportsman, Historic and Mac49/saw. No axle clutches, direct drive allowed
Brake upgrades
3rd Bearing Support Required on all sidewinder class karts using an oil bath and/or a disc clutch. If no bearing Support a guard to contain the clutch should be present.
Kart Chassis To remain in their original design from their model year. Reproduction and Specials allowed but must be vintage type.
