2010 Class Listings

New for 2010, 1977 - 1984 Era Karts

  • 77-84 Era karts w/100 cc engines.  McCulloch, Yamaha or period correct Italian built 100 cc two strokes.
  • 77-84 Era karts w/Briggs & Stratton flat head engines.
    • Our first year will be loose with rules as we just try to get some of these karts on track to grow our participant ranks.
  • Sportsman Jr.
    • Age 12-16 (younger drivers allowed if they can prove current day race experience).  Karts: rear or sidewinder allowed.  Engines: American built only up to 6.1 cu. in. with 1” or smaller bore carburetor.  No V-12 or V-16 intake manifolds allowed.  Dry clutch only and pipes are allowed.  We recommend that driver’s wear a chest protector.
  • Sportsman/Historic
    • Age 16 and older.  Karts: rear mount only and of older vintage.  Engine: American manufactured fan cooled.  Any West Bend up to 6.1 cu. in. okay.  McCulloch engines must all pre-date the 91 series and can be up to 6.1 cu. in.  All engines must run a 1” bore or smaller carburetor and can not use a V-12 or V-16 manifold.  Dry clutches and box mufflers mandatory.  Any kart deemed to fast for the class will be moved to the ‘Rear Single’ class listed below.
  • Sr. Mc 49
    • Age 16 and older.  Karts: rear or sidewinder with McCulloch Mc 49C or 49E engines.  Stock or stock appearing engine.
  • Rear Single up to 6.1 cu. in.
    • Age 16 and older.  Any rear engine kart up to 1976 vintage.  Up to 6.1 cu. in. American built fan cooled engine or pre 1965 foreign engine.  No Horstman DXL clutches allowed.
  • Rear Single over 6.1 cu. in.
    • Age 16 and older.  Any rear engine kart up to 1976 vintage.  American built fan cooled engine over 6.1 cu. in. or foreign built engines pre 1965 vintage.  No Horstman DXL clutches allowed.
  • Rear Dual or Triple
    • Age 18 or older.  Any American built fan cooled engines allowed.  1950’s and 1960’s dual engine karts can run in Sportsman/Historic if running Mc 10’s, Power Products, Clintons, etc.
  • Single Engine Over 60 Year Old Class
    • Any kart up to 1976 vintage.  Up to 6.1 cu. in. American built fan cooled engines only.
  • Sidewinder Single up to 6.1 cu. in.
    • Age 16 and older.  American built fan cooled engines only. 
  • Sidewinder Single over 6.1 cu. in.
    • Age 16 and older.  American built fan cooled engines only. 
  • Sidewinder Single Open Engines
    • Group 1 up to 6.1 cu. in. foreign or American engine.
    • Group 2 over 6.1 cu. in. foreign or American engine.
      • Classes scored separately but likely run together.
  • Sidewinder Dual
    • Age 18 or older.  Any engines 6.1 cu. in. or over, foreign or American manufacture.

Other items:

·        We would ask that karts remain in their original design.

·        Brake upgrades are okay.

·        All classes except for Sidewinder Dual to run a tire that durometers harder than 60.

·        Late 70’s dual karts allowed in Sidewinder Dual class.

·        We will allow up to 1976 vintage karts in all classes except Sportsman/Historic.

·        We will not allow open headers however period correct it may be.  Later vintage box mufflers required.  We may also disallow certain ‘too loud pipes’ that do not have a muffler over the stinger.
